What's New for 2024?
The biggest change for the 2024 Sierra 1500 is that the AT4X trim now comes standard with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine. Besides this, there are only a few smaller changes for the new model year, like some new wheel designs and exterior color options, as well as a new name for the 2.7-liter powertrain: the TurboMax.
Trim Levels
You get eight excellent trim levels to choose from with the GMC Sierra 1500. That means you will easily be able to have something that fits your unique requirements. The eight available options are Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate.
Interior and Exterior
Despite being a full-size pickup truck, the GMC Sierra 1500 still provides a comfortable crew cab with premium materials for you and your passengers. The cabin accommodates up to five people. You also get ample legroom to make sure taller passengers are comfortable. The front bucket seats with the optional leather appointments can make your truck more comfortable, as well. On the outside, you get a rugged vehicle with a variety of options to help you tackle the most challenging trails. Certain trims even offer mud-terrain tires to let you go anywhere without worrying about getting stuck.
Performance
You have four exceptional engine options to choose from with the GMC Sierra 1500. The first option is a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. You can also upgrade to a 5.3-liter V8, which generates up to 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. If that isn't enough, upgrade to the 6.2-liter V8 to enjoy up to 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The final option is an enhanced 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine that can produce up to 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
Every option is bolted to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GMC Sierra 1500 can tow up to 13,000 pounds. That makes the GMC Sierra 1500 one of the most capable trucks in its class. It also offers four-wheel drive, making it easy to travel off the beaten path on your next Green Valley adventure.
