Performance
The latest model year of the Chevy Equinox offers up just one engine option across all trim levels. That engine is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. This engine works in unison with a 6-speed automatic transmission while offering a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Technology
The Chevy Equinox makes a modern set of tech features standard regardless of the trim selected. The base LS trim level comes outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless entry. Stepping to the LT trim ensures increased tech features. The LT comes standard with satellite radio while also adding in an improved multi-color information display. The LT also allows for more tech to be had via packages. The Infotainment package, for instance, adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a navigation system, a high-definition backup camera, and a 120-volt power outlet. The RS trim doesn't make any major tech changes in its most basic configuration. However, it does allow for a Bose premium audio system to be added. The top-level Premier trim covers all the modern essentials by adding in wireless charging, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and an improved backup camera. The Premier also offers drivers an optional Infotainment II package that adds a navigation system and a 7-speaker Bose premium audio system.
Interior Features
The Equinox can be equipped with a range of comfort and convenience features, allowing drivers to outfit each model to their unique needs. The base LS trim includes cloth-trimmed seats, push-button start, air conditioning, and a roomy rear cargo storage area. The LS trim makes an LS Convenience package available, which allow for a power driver's seat to be added along with rear privacy glass. The LT trim makes some improvements by adding a remote rear seat folding lever, illuminated sun visors, and a power adjustable driver's seat. Packages available with the LT trim include a Confidence & Convenience package that adds in dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power liftgate, remote engine start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There's also an optional Infotainment package that adds a heated steering wheel. The RS Trim gains a unique shift knob, a power liftgate, and unique black interior accents and red stitching. The Premier trim once again takes the top spot, offering drivers ambient interior lighting, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and a hands-free liftgate. The Confidence & Convenience package allows drivers to add heated rear seats, heated/cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, a power adjustable passenger seat, and additional driver assistance features.
